Our History
So...
What is FCVA?
At Fellowship Church, we believe that all people are welcome and there should be no pretentious. We strive to create an atmosphere of family, where we can learn and grow together.
We believe in owning up to our mistakes, and embracing the truth of God’s word. We dream big and strive to take the next steps to make those dreams a reality.
We want to create an open environment where you feel welcome and comfortable even in your darkest moments. Our church is a place of no pretense and open doors, and we're excited to extend this invite for you to join us!
We are striving to be a 21st Century Apostolic Church. We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21) We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.
We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 9:6; Mark 12:28-29, 32; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Timothy 3:16; James 2:19). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings (Genesis 1:1, 2:4; Acts 17:24-28). He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator) (Isaiah 9:6; 37:16; 44:24; 48:18), as the Son (Savior) (Matthew 1:21), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit) (John 14:26).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin (Acts 2:38-39, 4:12, 18; 8:12, 16, 38-39; 10:48; 19:5; John 17:26; Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 3:14-15; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 2:12). Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Mark 16:16).
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4, 33; 10:44-46; 19:6).
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through different kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and gifts of healings (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Hebrews 2: 3-4; 14-18).
